TOMMY SOULATI SHEPHERD

Tommy Soulati Shepherd (he/him/they), co-founder of Alphabet Rockers, is an internationally renowned actor, playwright, composer, educator, rapper, drummer, beatboxer, and music producer. Tommy (aka Emcee Soulati) is a 2023 GRAMMY Award winner, four-time GRAMMY nominee, and 2025 EMMY winner, as well as the recipient of the 2018 Isadora Duncan Award for Composition. He was also honored with the Key to the City of Oakland. He has composed, performed, and toured internationally with Marc Bamuthi Joseph, collaborating on Scourge, the break/s, Spoken World, red, black and GREEN: a blues, and /peh-LO-tah/. He is a longtime member of Campo Santo, Felonious, and the Bay Area Theater Cypher. He brings love for family, art, activism, and community building to all of his work. His passion and hope for a more joyful and equitable world resonate through the hearts of families everywhere.

DJ ROZA DO

Roza Do, MPH/MCP (she/her) is the Resident DJ and Learning & Impact Director for Alphabet Rockers. Born in Rhode Island as the youngest daughter of Vietnamese refugees, Roza grew up in Gardena, CA, where her family settled. In 2001, she moved to Berkeley as a first-generation college student and fell in love with the Bay Area.Now rooted in Oakland with her partner, two young sons, and rescue pup, Roza’s career has spanned public health and consulting for mission-driven organizations. She is deeply committed to coaching and mentoring emerging leaders and career changers, particularly within BIPOC communities. Her work integrates inner growth and social impact, driven by a passion for arts and culture as tools for social justice. Roza is a member and resident DJ for Oakland-based hip-hop activists Rocky Rivera and Alphabet Rockers. With 15 years of experience in health care and community health, her consulting practice, reverb health, focuses on building communities of practice that reimagine collaboration, reclaim the definition of change, and regenerate connections between people and the planet.
