STEAM ASSEMBLIES   

 

"BE CURIOUS, BE YOU, BELONG"

Your PreK-6th grade students will sing, dance and engage throughout the whole show, exploring topics about scientific inquiry (“You’re thinking like a scientist, they ask questions”), internet safety (“Think before you click”) and water conservation (“Skip the plastic, ‘cuz we can tap that tap”). 

Lead emcee Tommy Soulati Shepherd is known as one of primary architects of belonging for children’s music nationally, helping students with self-confidence and providing affirmations for everyone in the community.

Don’t underestimate the name “Alphabet”; this all-ages program has been featured at Lollapalooza, SXSW, Smithsonian (NMHAAC), Lawrence Hall of Science, and has toured schools and festivals nationally since 2009.

Alphabet Rockers provide arts integration workshops for California school districts, as well as school professional development sessions. Each is tailored to the learning and community goals of the educators.

Programming is interactive, arts-based (visual, music, theater, dance) and inspires educators to iterate on school curriculum, build school culture, and gain confidence in arts integration.

Our music teachers really needed a professional development experience that reflected their love of music, of creativity AND of education. We were surprised how much we bonded over writing a song about our year ahead. I liked that we got to talk as real people, not just as educators holding outcomes for our students.

I loved it! They were beatboxing. They had lots of different songs. I'd like to do that.

From reading the Alphabet Rockers book  "You Are Not Alone" to my class, to learning the dance moves to "Shine" before their assembly, I feel like every child has gotten something out of this program. It left us with so much joy.
